Pasquotank-Camden EMS is currently seeking applicants for pre-hospital care providers to join our progressive, fast-paced team at the Paramedic level. Duties will include providing pre-hospital emergency care and associated skills at the basic and/or advanced level. Pasquotank-Camden EMS operates out of one centralized headquarters located in Elizabeth City, NC and three satellite stations located in the more rural areas of both counties. A system of high quality pre-hospital care is provided to a diverse urban and rural population of around 50,000 with 7 paramedic level emergency ambulances, 3 non-emergency ambulances, & 1 QRV Shift Commander operating on flexible 24/72 rotations and 12 hour shifts.
Considered one of the “Best Places to Live on the Coast”, Elizabeth City is a growing coastal community centrally located in northeastern North Carolina, adjacent to the Coastal Outer Banks of NC and Metropolitan Hampton Roads area of VA. The city known as the Harbor of Hospitality, is home to Elizabeth City State University, Mid- Atlantic Christian University, and the nation's largest US Coast Guard base, Air Station Elizabeth City which is responsible for numerous search/rescue missions each year throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
Applicants must have: 1) High School Diploma or G.E.D.; 2) Current pre-hospital certification at the Paramedic level by NCOEMS or ability to obtain through reciprocity; 3) Possession of a valid driver license; 4) Good physical agility and ability to perform duties; 5) Ability to pass local medical board, if necessary & provide documentation of continuing education hours for verification; 6) Current course completions preferred in PHTLS, PALS, ACLS, & Basic Life Support (CPR).
Pre- employment background check, drug screen and driving record checks will be performed.

Hiring range (based on current fiscal year):
Paramedic: $37,126 - $52,622 (plus built-in overtime and holiday pay) Other benefits include paid training, BCBS health insurance, compensatory/vacation/sick time, local government retirement, optional dental/vision/disability insurance & 401k/457b plans.
