Sawyer, which plat is of record in the office of the Register of Deeds of Pasquotank County, North Carolina in Deed Book 16 at page 487 which lot fronts 50 feet on York Street and extends back between parallel lines a distance of 100 feet, and is adjoined by Lots Nos. 36 and 40 it being the same property contained in that certain deed from M.N. H. Bunch, by deed recorded in Book 101, page 296, Pasquotank Register’s Office, the said J.H. Sawyer, by deed dated February 12, 1908, and recorded in Book 31, at page 619 Register of Deeds Office for this County, and more particularly bounded and described as follows: Beginning at a point on Dawson Street the south side thereof, 124 feet from east side of Southern Avenue thence eastwardly along South side of Dawson Street, 30 feet, to the Northwest corner of the Allan Mitchell lot, thence southerly along the western line of said Mitchell lot to the Jack Chory line, thence Westwardly along his line 30 feet to the line of Tillett lot, thence northerly along said Tillett line to point of beginning, and being the first lot described in that certain deed from Pearl Dawson and husband to Dr. C. W. Sawyer, dated February 12, 1908, and recorded in Book 31, at page 619, See said deed for fuller description of said lot.

Property Map #29-C-22:  Situated on the corner of South Road Street and its intersection with Harrington’s Road and bounded on the South by said Harrington’s Road; on the West by Road Street and the lot formerly owned by Mattie Sawyer; on the North by the lot formerly by Mattie Sawyer and a ditch forming a tributary of Harrington’s Creek; on the  East by a lot known as the Old Madrin Homestead, and being the same lot formerly owned and occupied by Sarah Godfrey, deceased and now or formerly owned by Will Morring.

      This is the same property which was inherited by Frances J. Newbern upon the death of her late father, Solon Alfred Jones, as contained in Estate File No. 73-E-109 in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Pasquotank County, North Carolina.  And being the same property conveyed to James Alton Newbern by Deed recorded in Book 530, at Page 671 of the Pasquotank County Registry.
