ABC Board
One (1) vacancy (Joint City/County appointee) - On hold while City and County consider the appointment – The Board is organized pursuant to requirements of NCGS 18B-700 to serve the locality responsibly by controlling the sale of spirituous liquor and promoting customer-friendly, modern and efficient stores.
Elizabeth City Board of Adjustment
Four (4) vacancies – (2 regular and 2 alternate members). The County appointees must live within the city’s ETJ. Contact Julie Stamper at 252-335-2336 to see if your address is within the ETJ. Please contact Elizabeth City Planning Office at 252-337-6672 for additional information and duties. Currently, the County has no representation on the EC BOA.
Elizabeth City Planning Commission
One (1) vacancy. The County appoints two members. County appointees must live within the City’s ETJ. Please contact Julie Stamper, GIS Director at 252-331-2336 if you are unsure if your address is located within the ETJ. Contact Lynn Scott at 252-335-0865 for additional information. Attached is a letter from Gloria Frelix stating that she is no longer able to serve on the commission.
EMS Board
One (1) vacancy (On hold) – Meets as needed. Contact Jerry Newell at 252-335-1524 for duties. Staff is working on a new EMS Ordinance and will recommend changing the membership from four appointees to three.
Juvenile Crime Prevention Council
Four (4) vacancies.
Pasquotank County Joint Community Advisory Committee
Seven (7) vacancies. Eight (8) members total – All appointed by Pasquotank County. The committee is responsible for upholding the intent of the NC Resident Bill of Rights. Applicant must reside in Pasquotank County and cannot live in, work at, or have a financial interest in the long-term care facilitates that he/she will serve. You may also not have an immediate family member working/residing in the facilities that you serve. To serve, you must be 18, live in the county and be willing to give your time. The estimate of time (8-24 hours per quarter) spent performing required duties includes attendance at meetings, conducting both official and friendly visits to the facilities, and other activities to benefit long term care residents. For more information contact Melissa Hines at (252) 404-7086. Applicants must fill out an application through the Albemarle Commission. Once trained, the Board appoints the members.
Personnel Appeals Committee
One (1) vacancy – (alternate member) Meets as necessary. The Personnel Appeals Committee shall hear appeals of Pasquotank County employees.
Regional Advisory Council (on Aging)
One (1) vacancy – Meet quarterly at Albemarle Commission. The Regional Advisory Council gives direction and guidance to the Albemarle Commission Area Agency on Aging’s efforts in serving the senior population. The primary purpose of the council is to serve as advocates for older adults, their caregivers and their families living within the service area. Contact Kayla Benfield, Aging Program Specialist at 252-404-7087 for duties. The Council currently has one (1) representative from Pasquotank County. Attached is a letter I received from Ms. Benfield regarding the opening.
Tourism Development Authority
One (1) vacancy – (City recommendation – at large) James DuBose, Jr. notified the TDA that he does not wish to be reappointed when his appointment expires on 06-30-26.
