Draft Unified Development Ordinance
New Unified Development Ordinance and Zoning Map
Pasquotank County is in the process of adopting a new Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) and Zoning Map. The UDO will consolidate development-related regulations into one “unified” document. Pasquotank County’s UDO combines County regulations on zoning, subdivision, flood damage prevention, minimum housing standards, address display, and abandoned vehicles into a single document that aligns with N.C. General Statutes Chapter 160D, Local Planning and Development Regulation. Upon adoption, the UDO will only apply to the unincorporated area of Pasquotank County, which excludes the City of Elizabeth City and the City’s Extraterritorial Zoning Jurisdiction.
