This is a special program for children, teens, and adults in June, July, and August. It will feature special guests and activities outside of our regular programming.

Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools Battle of the Books
The North Carolina Battle of the Books (BOB) for the 2025-2026 school year is a reading competition for students in grades 3-12. Teams from different schools read books from a specific list and compete in quiz-style matches to test their knowledge and comprehension of the books.
The competition is designed to foster a love of reading, teamwork, and critical thinking. Below are links to grade-level books that we have available for checkout. You can come in and check out a book or place a hold on the book by clicking on the title and then on Place Hold. You will need a library Card and a PIN to place a hold or check out a book.
Now at Pasquotank County Library: Explore the Rootle Discovery Corner!
Families in Pasquotank County now have access to a Rootle Discovery Corner—a fun, child-friendly space designed to spark curiosity and support early learning through play! Hosted by the Pasquotank County Library, this special corner is stocked with free educational resources including books, literacy games, STEM activities, hands-on learning tools, and PBS KIDS materials.
Rootle Discovery Corners are created with parents, caregivers, and educators in mind, offering easy, engaging ways to help children build school readiness and early literacy skills. Everything is centered around play-based learning—and it’s completely free to explore and enjoy!
Thanks to special funding, all materials are provided for free use - making it even easier for families to discover, learn, and grow together. Come visit the Rootle Discovery Corner at the Pasquotank County Library and start your learning adventure today!
The Pasquotank County Library proudly presents 1000 Books Before Kindergarten. Read a book, any book, to your participating child. The goal is to have 1000 books read before your child starts kindergarten.
With each 100 books read your child will receive a small prize! Simply fill out a reading log and return it to the Children's Desk at the Pasquotank County Library.

Storytime
Storytime is offered during the week for different age groups from 10 am to 10:45 am
Tuesday for 3-5 years old
Wednesday for 1-2 years old
Thursday for 0-1 year old
Thursday Bilingual Storytime at 4:30 PM








LEGO Club
The Lego Club meets on the second and fourth Mondays of each month with a set theme. Children can stop in between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM and build from prepared boxes of Legos and make something based on the monthly theme.
